Matt learned woodworking from watching YouTube videos. One day in 2014, Sterling Davis was running a contest where participants needed to make something out of pallet wood and submit a video. Matt made a video and entered the content. He never stopped making videos.
Matt has several YouTube channels. Currently, he uploads videos about woodworking (Awesome Wood Things), playing the piano (Piano Awesome), and miscellaneous topics (Awesome Fun Things.)
